Screech Owl House
All of our bird houses are made from locally milled, rough cut lumber and/or salvaged lumber, giving them a weathered, natural look. Each house is sized approximately for the specific bird species, though some different birds like the same size house. The selected materials are rot resistant black locust, hemlock and larch, all locally sourced and milled from urban trees in Pittsburgh. Screech owl houses are large and specifically designed for these small owls. Hang at least twelve feet up, preferable at a forest edge and just under a branch. Houses are heavy so special care is needed when hanging, professional help may be needed.
